South and National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) Minister
Tommaso Foti said the seventh NRRP installment which Italy has
just requested would continue the development of the poorer
south of the country, the Mezzogiorno.
"The 67 objectives connected to the seventh payment request are
proof of the constructive commitment carried out by the
Government, in collaboration with the EU Commission and all the
subjects responsible for implementing the Plan", said Foti, a
bigwig in Premier Giorgia Meloni's rightwing Brothers of Italy
(FdI) party.
Foti underlined how these are "fundamental measures for the
modernization and growth of Italy: the start of interventions to
strengthen port, railway, road and urban infrastructures, which
are a fundamental prerequisite for continuing the development of
Southern Italy and the concrete reduction of territorial gaps".
