Slovenia will hold a referendum
this year on whether to build a second nuclear unit to replace
the current one at the Krsko Nuclear Power Station after its
extended lifespan expires in 2043, according to an agreement
reached at a cross-party meeting hosted by Slovenian Prime
Minister Robert Golob on Tuesday. Golob stated that all five
parliamentary parties have agreed to collaborate on developing a
question on Krsko 2 that will be put to a vote in a consultative
referendum this year, according to Slovenian news agency STA.
