Slovenian Prime Minister Robert
Golob will host a summit on Tuesday to discuss the best way to
proceed with the decision-making process for a new nuclear
reactor, the Slovenian news agency STA reported today. The prime
minister's office announced on Wednesday that the president and
president of parliament, as well as the leaders of parliamentary
parties and minority MPs, had been invited. A final decision on
a second nuclear reactor in Slovenia could be made in 2027 or
2028, implying that the new reactor could be connected to the
grid by 2038. The project is estimated to cost more than EUR 10
billion.
