The CEI - Executive Secretariat
honoured the winners of the CEI SEEMO Award for Outstanding
Merits in Investigative Journalism at a ceremony held in
Podgorica on November 27 during the South East Europe Media
Forum. President Jakov Milatovic of Montenegro was also in
attendance.
This year's focus was on the role of investigative journalism
in raising public awareness of critical issues in the
environment, agriculture/food security, and health sectors, with
a particular emphasis on stories advocating for transparency and
good governance in terms of practices, procedures, and funding.
Adrian Mogoş from Romania won the "professional Journalists"
category. The winners ex aequo in the "Young Professional
Journalists" category are Dino Cviko from Bosnia and Herzegovina
and Giorgio Michalopoulos from Italy. The CEI SEEMO Award for
Outstanding Merits in Investigative Journalism aims to elevate
the standard of investigative journalism and recognise the
tireless efforts of investigative journalists, often operating
under challenging circumstances amid threats to media freedom
and personal safety.
