Slovenian police recorded 37,212
illegal border crossings in the first nine months of 2024, down
approximately 7,500 or 17% from the same period last year,
according to the Slovenian news agency STA, citing official
data. Syrian nationals continue to dominate, with their numbers
increasing 13-fold and accounting for more than one-third of all
cases. Afghans follow, but their numbers have more than halved,
according to STA.
