Italian ski star Sofia Goggia is set
to return to action at Beaver Creek next weekend after breaking
her leg at the end of January.
The Italian alpine skier, who became the first Italian to win a
downhill Olympic gold on her Olympic debut, said she was
"fighting fit" after sustaining fractures to her right tibia and
tibial malleolus last January 31.
"It's been a tough time, with surgeries, lots of physiotherapy
and a lot of work to get myself back on track.
"But I've improved day by day and the time to get back into the
race is getting closer and closer" said the athlete from
Bergamo, who has been in the US since November 11th.
The 32-year-old is a four-time World Cup downhill title winner
(2018, 2021—2023).
