The exhibition 'From The Moon to Mars', which anticipates the National Space Day, with which, for the past four years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been celebrating the launch of San Marco 1, the first Italian artificial satellite launched on 16 December 60 years ago, will be inaugurated at the Science Gallery in Bengaluru (Bangalore).
The Bengaluru exhibition, which will remain open until 26 January, will be accompanied at the weekend by a wide-ranging programme, which includes meetings between Italian and Indian scientists, the display of models of the Indian lunar module Chandrayaan-3 and other instruments of ISRO, the Indian space agency, and the spectacular Habitat Pod, an immersive simulation of extra-terrestrial life conditions created by the Indian start-up Aakaa Space, and recently tested in Ladakh. The exhibition is completed by 'space suits' designed by Prada for the US company Axiom.
Presenting the initiatives, Alfonso Tagliaferri, Consul General of Italy in Bengaluru said: "I am proud of this ambitious project that celebrates the current great moment of collaboration between Italy and India on space; a collaboration that started a long time ago, and that is experiencing an extraordinary acceleration in the last two years.
