The Italian Ambassador to Croatia, Paolo Trichilo, was received by the Croatian Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Josip Bilaver. The meeting took stock of the state of bilateral cooperation and the prospects for strengthening it, with a particular focus on strengthening maritime connections between Italy and Croatia. Bilovar also called for the participation of Italian companies in the modernisation programme of the Croatian railway network. Ambassador Trichilo confirmed the growing interest of the Italian private sector in the country, as witnessed most recently by the start of new connections between Zagreb and some important Italian cities (including Naples, Rome, Milan, and Turin) via Ljubljana by Itabus (starting on 16 October).
