Rescue services said on Friday that nobody is missing at Bagnacavallo near Ravenna after initial reports had claimed first that two and then one resident were missing following the collapse of a house due to floods in the area.
Earlier on Friday, Ravenna prefect Castrese De Rosa had lowered the missing toll to one saying that Carabinieri police were verifying the information.
Rescuers also denied reports that a person on the river bank of Lamone had been swept away.
Meanwhile firefighters said they have carried out over 1,000 operations between Thursday and Friday with more than 250 units at work to pump water from flooded areas, rescue stranded residents and monitor the situation of rivers with drones and helicopters, among other things.
Many operations focused on the area of Ravenna, with the most critical situations reported between the towns of Bagnacavallo and Lugo.
And on Saturday the alert level will be reduced to orange from the extreme-weather red alert in the worst-hit areas of Bologna, Ravenna and the provinces of Forlì and Cesena, local authorities said.
Ther latest bulletin issued by the civil protection and local environment protection agency Arpae said no significant weather events were forecast on Saturday except for a few storms of short duration and the possibility of landslides following torrential rain over the past few days.
