Mario Calabresi, the editor-in-chief
of the Chora Media outlet where Italian journalist Cecilia Sala
works, expressed happiness after her release on Wednesday,
saying the newsroom was deeply moved.
"We are very happy", he told ANSA.
"We knew the government was working intensely but we didn't
expect Cecilia to home so quickly", said the editor of Chora
Media, a podcast company for which Sala went to Iran.
"When the news arrived there was a lot of emotion at Chora,
everyone applauded", said Calabresi, commenting the release of
Sala, 29, who also works for daily newspaper Il Foglio.
Calabresi went on to thank Premier Giorgia Meloni, Cabinet
Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano, Deputy Premier and Foreign
Minister Antonio Tajani and Italy's Ambassador to Iran Paola
Amadei, as well as all Italian officials involved in the case
"for their excellent work".
