Nearly 8,000 arrests have been
carried out in the first 10 months of 2024 over 'Red Code'
charges involving domestic violence including abuse, rape and
stalking, Carabinieri police said on Monday.
Specifically, 7,928 people have already been detained for
gender-based violence in the first 10 months of the year, up
from the 7,644 arrests carried out over the course of 2023 and
7,111 in 2022.
Carabinieri police also said they investigated 46,317
gender-based crimes involving domestic violence, compared to
55,374 during all of 2023 and 55,374 in 2022.
