Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said
Thursday that he was keeping Premier Giorgia Meloni informed
after bases of the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon, including ones
where Italian troops are stationed, came under attack.
"There is full agreement with Premier Giorgia Meloni that the
safety of the Italian military deployed in Lebanon is the top
priority," Crosetto said.
"I am keeping her constantly updated on the evolution of the
situation, which she is following with great attention and
participation.
"Security is the only way to ensure that the Italian
peacekeepers continue their work of mediation and support for
peace and stability in the region"
