(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 17 - Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi
on Tuesday hosted a national public safety and security
committee meeting at the interior ministry in Rome which focused
on measures to be implemented during next year's Jubilee Holy
Year celebrations, which will attract millions of pilgrims and
visitors in the Italian capital.
As part of measures for the Jubilee, 700 security units will be
deployed in the capital in addition to those regularly operating
to monitor sensitive sites and in particular the Vatican,
Basilicas and the city centre, well-informed sources said.
