(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 13 - A nationwide 24-hour local public
transport strike called by the USB union was causing disruption
in several Italian cities on Friday.
In Rome, for example, the A and C metro lines are closed because
of the strike while services on the Vesuviana rail line in the
Naples area were suspended.
Transport Minister Matteo Salvini had tried to limit the strike,
signing an order for it to last only four hours, but the move
was struck down by a court.
He warned that the ruling meant citizens were in for a day of
"chaos and inconvenience". (ANSA).
