(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 11 - Italian pop's 'eternal golden boy'
Gianni Morandi turned 80 on Wednesday having just released his
latest single.
Morandi, the son of a cobbler from Romagna, has taken part in
the San Remo Song Contest seven times, and won it in a trio with
Enrico Ruggeri and Umberto Tozzi in 1987 with Si Può Dare Di
Più.
Overall, he is estimated to have sold over 50 million records.
