(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 9 - An appeals court in the Abruzzo city
of L'Aquila on Monday ruled that Germany must pay four million
euros in compensation to 30 relatives of victims of the World
War II massacre of Pietransieri.
The court sentenced the Federal Republic of Germany, the German
foreign ministry to pay the sum to relatives who had not been
previously compensated for the massacre.
The ruling followed the supreme Court of Cassation's decision
that compensation could be paid to victims' relatives
individually and not necessarily as part of a class action suit.
