Guccini quits X over 'ideas light years away from Musk' (3)

Singer and song-writer says nobody will miss him

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 14 - Iconic Italian singer and songwriter Francesco Guccini, 84, said on Thursday that he is quitting X because the platform's owner Elon Musk "has ideas that are light years away from mine".
"I have no interest in communicating on a platform that contributes to shape narratives and manipulate political thoughts", said the artist, known for his repertoire including socially engaged songs such as La Locomotiva and Eskimo as well as more introspective and intimate ballades including Vedi Cara, Autogrill, Signora Bovary and Cyrano - the soundtrack of two Italian generations.
"I will continue to serenely live my life in Pavana", a town in the Appenines near Pistoia where Guccini has retired.
"I don't think anyone will miss him on X", he said.
Guccini's announcement came after controversial statements the tycoon made on his platform about the Italian judiciary.
The Tesla, X and SpaceX owner Musk, who was appointed by US President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday to head a newly created government efficiency agency, wrote via X that the Rome judges who had suspended the validation of the detention of a group of migrants taken to a new Italian-run centre in Albania "need to go".
    "This is unacceptable.
"Do the people of Italy live in a democracy or does an unelected autocracy make the decisions?", Musk also wrote, commenting the Italian judges' decision about the migrants subjected to Italy's controversial policy of taking asylum seekers to Italian-run processing facilities in Albania (ANSA).
