(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 13 - An amendment to the government's 2025
budget bill has increased the number of lower-earners set to get
a one-off 100-euro Christmas bonus from one million to 4.5
million, Deputy Economy Minister Maurizio Leo said on Wednesday.
The number of beneficiaries has increased thanks to the
amendment scrapping the requirement that claimants must have a
spouse who is financially dependent on them to be eligible.
As a result, the bonus will go to people with annual incomes of
up to 28,000 euros with at least one child financially dependent
on them.
Some 4,560 amendments have been filed to the bill, including
1,200 from parties of the governing coalition.
The Lower House's budget committee has identified 600 of the
amendments as priority - 250 from the ruling majority, 320 from
the opposition and 30 from the mixed group. (ANSA).
